Requirements for the job role of a Network Engineer

Proven hands-on experience in network engineering
Good understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Experience in CCNP or higher (CCIE and CISSP highly valued)
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS
Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject from a recognized institute
Right amount of experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
